ROCHESTER - The Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing of Rochester will host an exhibit called "An Eclectic Collection," featuring the photography of Katherine MacDonald of North Berwick, Maine.

The Gallery will host an informal Artist's Reception for the exhibit on Feb. 7, from 5-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to come and see the exhibit and meet the artist. Light refreshments will be served.

MacDonald attended the University of Southern Maine as well as McIntosh College, where she majored in photography. "Capturing what I see in a natural way is how I approach photography," she adds. "You don't have to go far to find beauty - just take a look - it's all around us."

Her love of the natural world started early in life when she lived in Newfields with her parents and three brothers. "My parents taught us about the natural world around us and encouraged us to explore outdoor environments. As a teen, I spent some time living on Guam where that education and exploration continued." She enjoys hiking, the ocean and the entire natural world in between.

"I've done many things over the years, including marketing, event management, race management and timing," says MacDonald. Currently, she encourages health and wellness by promoting Shaklee products through Katherine's Natural Health Options. She also works in schools and is a marine docent with the UNH Seat Grant program. In her spare time, she is an interpreter for the Olde York Historical Society and does historical role playing.

The Franklin Gallery and RiverStones Custom Framing are open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Unless otherwise indicated, all exhibited Franklin Gallery artworks are available for purchase.
