We will be closed Tuesday, January 1st for the New Year. Happy 2019 to all!
Our January story hours will be held on Wednesday, 1/2 and Wednesday 1/23 at 12:30 PM. We hope you and your little ones will be able to join us! (Remember, this counts toward your 1000 Books Before Kindergarten (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=6d23407ad2&e=e62757964d) !)
Our annual Winter Doldrums party is planned for Saturday, January 19 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. All our young friends are welcome to join us for some joyful crafts and games, and refreshments. Take a break from winter and have some fun!
Looking for a fun and creative activity? Among the MANY non-traditional things YOUR local library has to lend is an instant camera - film included! This is great for scrap-booking or just an entertaining time making funny faces with your friends. Ask your librarian if you're interested!
Attention Nute high-schoolers or any Milton student of high school age: Fun Fan Fiction entries are due Friday, February 8th! Have you ever thought about changing the ending to a favorite book? Maybe you've wanted to add a chapter to make some part of the story better, clearer, or just so that things happened the way YOU wanted? Here's your chance to "fix" one of your favorite books and try to win a great prize! Nute students should turn in their entries to their teachers and others can turn in their entries to the library. Prizes will be awarded on February 28th: First Place $100, Second Place $75, and Third Place $50!
Interested in researching your family tree? Milton Free Public Library has a library subscription to Ancestry.com. This means you can research your family's genealogy for FREE as long as you access the site via our Internet access - so bring your laptop or use of our computers and learn something new about your ancestors. You'll find the link on the main page of the library website (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=f6ebdddcec&e=e62757964d) or ask your librarian for help getting started. This could be a neat family project for the new year!
The "Little Red School House" will undergo some more work to its exterior next summer! We are thrilled about our recent $36,357 New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Grant award that will help pay for repairs to our beautiful bell tower. To read a short history of the library in Milton Mills, please visit our website (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=3a6ff30774&e=e62757964d) . And thank you for supporting your local library!
