ROCHESTER - City police are on the lookout today for a man who on Thursday robbed a customer inside a Rochester convenience store at knifepoint.

Domenic A. Peters, 20, of Goffstown, but who formerly lived in Rochester, has a warrant out for his arrest in connection with the armed robbery, which occurred a little before 8 p.m. at the Cumberland Farms on Knight Street in Rochester's downtown.

"They had a heated exchange inside the store," Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today. "Then while the victim was checking out at the cash register the suspect showed the knife and grabbed the money out of his hand."

Thomas said the store clerk was unaware of the incident as it unfolded.

The suspect is described in the police report as wearing a gray hat, gray shirt, tan shorts and red shoes. He reportedly left in a vehicle, but no description was available.

The victim is a Rochester man in his 20s who was an acquaintance with the suspect.

Police would not comment on the amount of money stolen.
