ROCHESTER - The man arrested in a brutal Lafayette Street beating case from a year ago is being sought today by Rochester Police on several new charges including theft and criminal mischief.

Police are asking anyone who may see Stephen Regan Jr., 23, a longtime Rochester transient, to not approach him but immediately call police.

Reagan is wanted on charges of willful concealment, criminal mischief, theft by deception and theft by unauthorized taking.

Reagan was one of three men implicated in the brutal beating at 48 Lafayette St. on Jan. 8, 2017.

According to a police affidavit officers got involved after a woman who lives at 48 Lafayette St. called police after finding the victim unconscious in the driveway.

The man, from Newmarket, had been viciously beaten and left unconscious in the driveway after being jumped by what he said were three men, according to the affidavit. The victim said he had gone to the house to return items to his ex-girlfriend, whom he had recently broken up with.

The victim told police he "blacked out" as his assailants were kicking him repeatedly while on the ground.

Reagan was never charged in the beating. Itself, but on two felony counts of receiving stolen property and forgery for allegedly using the victim's credit card to buy Chinese food the night of the beating.

Police are asking anyone who may know where Reagan is to call 603-330-7128, but do not try to apprehend him.
