ROCHESTER - Rochester Police said on Friday they are working with Somersworth and Dover police to determine if two Thursday armed robberies are related to several recent similar robberies in Rochester.

According to Rochester Capt. Jason Thomas, the city's two Shell gas station robberies may be connected, but police are less certain of the connection to the Milton Road Family Dollar.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth Police arrested a suspect on Friday in a Durham robbery in which a man robbed the Emery Farm on Route 4 at knifepoint around 11:20 a.m., tied up three victims and fled the scene in a stolen car.

Police caught up with the suspect at the C&J Trailways bus station in Greenland around 5:30 p.m. where Joshua Kenneth Flynn, 46, of Bristol, was found in a stolen vehicle. He was held on probation and parole violations and will be arraigned on any charges at Strafford County Superior Court on Monday.

Portsmouth Police are now working with police officials in Somersworth, Dover and Rochester to try to determine what involvement Flynn may have in this week's string of armed robberies, many of which were done at knifepoint.

The robberies in Dover and Somersworth occurred on Thursday at the Somersworth Gulf station on Rt. 108 and at the Shell gas station on Longhill Road in Dover.

The spree began earlier in the week in Rochester when around midnight on Tuesday a crowbar-wielding man walked into the Shell Station at 130 Washington St., demanded cash and fled.

Then around 7:30 p.m. that same day a masked man walked into the Milton Road Family Dollar, showed a knife to the clerk and demanded money from the cash clerk.

A short time later a little before 9 p.m. a victim called police from the Riviera Motel on Route 125 to say they had been forced to withdraw money from an ATM.

The victim said the suspect held a mallet to their head and forced them to drive to a nearby Irving Gas station ATM and take out $100 in cash to give to the suspect.

Thomas said they don't believe the Riviera Motel robbery is connected to the spree, and that the build of the suspect in the Family Dollar heist is different than the suspect in the two Rochester gas station heists.

Anyone with any information regarding any of these robberies is urged to contact Detective Justin Livingstone or to contact the Rochester Crimeline at 335-6500 to leave an anonymous tip or send a text message with the header "TEXT4CASH" to 274637.
