ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was summonsed for negligent driving and disorderly conduct in what police are characterizing as a road rage incident on Monday morning.

The incident began a little after 9 a.m. when Amy L. Kincaid, 34, of 228 North Main St., in a Mercury, was backing out of her driveway and preparing to head south into town when she apparently pulled out in front of another driver in a Honda minivan also heading south.

Kincaid said the van was on her bumper and subsequently she "brake-checked" coming to a complete stop, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today.

"When the car went to pass on the right, Ms. Kincaid then turns her car right and strikes the other vehicle," added Thomas, who said the impact occurred near George's Pizza and Cleary Cleaners on North Main.

The Mercury sustained minor damage to the front passenger side quarter panel.

Kincaid, who had two children in the car, was charged with negligent driving for allegedly driving into the van, and disorderly conduct for swearing and cussing at the scene, Thomas added.

The charges are both violation-level offenses, according to Thomas.

The female driver of the van was not charged in the incident.
