SANFORD - Sanford Police are asking for the public's help in identifying possible suspects in a fire at the Family Dollar located in the Mid-Town Mall on Sunday.

Clerks in the store called 911 when they saw heavy smoke at the back of the store. It was determined that a small bundle of napkins located on an end stand had been lighted on fire near the rear of the store.

The store was successfully evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Police say several customers were in and around the store at the time and are requesting the public's help in identifying potential witnesses to this incident.

The fire remains under investigation, and detectives are working with the office of the State Fire Marshal.

Tipsters who were at the Family Dollar at this time are asked to call the Sanford Police Department to speak with Det. Chad Allen, 207-324-9170 ext. 223.
