PORTLAND, M aine - Portland Police say they have a person of interest in connection with a series of incidents last week in which a man exhibited sexually explicit behavior, made lewd comments and in at least one incident exposed himself in public in several southern Maine towns.

Portland police Lt. Robert Martin told the Portland Press Herald on Wednesday, "We have a person of interest and we're continuing the investigation, trying to put it` together."

Sanford Police reported incidents on Saturday at various locations throughout the city including at two Aroma Joe's.

During the Aroma Joe's encounters, the male was reportedly touching himself sexually and attempted to gain access into the buildings. Each time the male fled prior to police arrival, Sanford Police Det. Everett Allen said on Friday.

The male is described as white, with a thin build, aged 25-35 years old, with brownish-blonde hair in a ponytail or "man bun." The male was driving a beat up, dark colored Chevrolet truck, with "Chevrolet" in big letters across the tailgate, and "4X4" on the bed. The male was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incidents.

Similar incidents have recently been reported to the Portland Police, USM Public Safety, and the Scarborough Police Department. Anyone with information regarding the incidents is encouraged to contact Detective Everett Allen with the Sanford Police Department 207-324-9170 Ext 225.
