Public hearing on through-trucking ordinance set Monday

MILTON - Monday is the last chance the public has to comment on an ordinance that would restrict through-trucking on certain town streets.

Singled out for enforcement in the ordinance are Hare, Governors and Nutes roads.

Specifically, through traffic would be defined as any large truck that travels from one end of the road to the other without stopping at any business or residence on the street.

If the ordinance passes, penalties for such an infraction would be first $250, then $500, and for a third offense, $1,000.

The public hearing will be during the regularly scheduled selectmen's meeting which begins at 7 p.m.
