ROCHESTER - Raymond Bruce Bridges, 58, of Rochester, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital. Ray was born in Dover on March 11, 1960, the son of Bruce and Cecile Bridges.
He was employed at Davidson Rubber/Textron for 29 years. He was currently employed at Schaeffer Rolls.
Ray loved all sports but was most passionate about the Baltimore Orioles and the Indianapolis Colts. He loved the beach, warm weather and creating memories with family and friends. He loved taking trips to football games with his son and friends. The last few years he started to venture outside his normal comfort zone, and even attended Comic-Con. He enjoyed playing video games with his good friend Sean Carrigan.
Ray had an incredible work ethic. He spent 29 years at Davidson Rubber/Textron. There he made friendships with Joe Briggs, Sean Carrigan and Bill Foxlow, that have lasted this lifetime and beyond. After Textron, Ray found employment at Schaeffer Rolls. There once again the company benefited from his many hours of hard work and dedication. He also developed close friendships with Charlie and Tommy. Ray recently smiled as he read a text from Charlie calling him "The Great One". Ray maintained his quick wit, sense of humor and compassion for those he loved to the very end.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Cecile Bridges; his sisters Terry, and Diane.
He leaves behind his daughter Kristen and her husband Seva of Somersworth; son Jeff and girlfriend Meghan of Dover; grandson Victor of Somersworth; sister Liz of Strafford; he also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He will be missed by many others.
