Rene J. Carignan ... enjoyed hunting, fishing

LEBANON - Rene J. Carignan, 81, of Lebanon, died on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.

Rene was born on Nov. 12, 1934, to Raymond Carignan and Corenna Boisvert in Lebanon where he grew up and attended local schools. When he was a young man he married Marie Normandeau and together they raised three daughters and shared 45 years of marriage until her death in 1999. During his working life he had been employed at American Cyanamid until he was forced to retire due to disability.

Rene was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a jack of all trades and was able to do just about anything he put his mind to. He liked welding and working on anything mechanical, especially his own vehicles. Rene also enjoyed talking to his many friends on the CB radio where he was known by his handle "White Hunter." He was a loving and devoted father and husband and always made sure his family had everything they wanted. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Rene was predeceased by his wife, Marie Carignan.

Surviving are three daughters, Robin Shaw and her husband David, Peggy Ham and Terry Gerrish and her husband Bert, all of Lebanon; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon.
