ROCHESTER - Richard L. Cardin, 78, a resident of the Glen Cliff Home for the past 13 years, died Friday, September 16, 2016, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., after a long period of failing health. Born on July 28, 1938, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of Alphonse and Henrietta Cardin.
He leaves three children-Rick, Monica, and James Cardin Tibbetts, and eleven sisters and four brothers.
He always spoke lovingly and tenderly about his children and always looked forward to seeing them-he missed them so much. His sister Laurea was his court appointed guardian. She loved him dearly and was very devoted to taking care of him in all his needs, trying to make his life as enjoyable as possible and hoped someday- a cure would come to help him in his sickness. A better quality of life was made possible for him in his retirement years. He also leaves two special nieces Deborah Merrill (also a guardian) and Patricia Mansfield; they did all they could do to make his life as comfortable and happy. He also left many other nieces and nephews.
Richard was particular about his appearance. He enjoyed walks on the beach, eating out in restaurants, watching his collection of movies on DVD's as well as country music-Gene Autry was his favorite. He enjoyed his big screen TV.
