MILTON - Robert "Bob" D. Taatjes, 86, of 51 Dawson St., Milton, died peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018 surrounded by family. Born December 18, 1931 in Kingston, the son of Louise (Mangini) and Gerhardt Taatjes.
A Navy veteran who served during the Korean War, he was a member of the Milton American Legion Post 61 and VFW 8393, and a long and faithful member of the Community Church of Milton. Bob graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Eastern Air Devices in Dover as Chief Electrical Engineer for 38 years. He re-established the family business, Milton Hardware alongside his wife, Norma, and children.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma and their children, B. Scott Taatjes and wife Stacy, Cheryl Giguere and husband Tom, Karen Burrows and husband Steven, Donald Taatjes and wife Tanya, Michael Taatjes and wife Amy; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; also survived by one of six siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" and husband Harry Bodwell Jr. of Kensington.
