ROCHESTER - For four years Raiche & Company CPAs quietly built its Greater Rochester customer base and brand in the Rochester Hill Professional Park, but that all changed in November.

That's when the firm, which also has offices in Dover and Portsmouth, moved downtown.

Managing Partner Lawrence Raiche founded the firm in 1980, and it has since seen steady growth throughout the Seacoast.

But being stuck in the Rochester Hill Professional Park since 2014 left them without the visibility they wanted, so when the opportunity arose to acquire the business left by retiring Rochester CPA Greg Smith, they jumped at the chance to relocate to his former offices at 16 Wakefield St.

"We wanted a stronger presence in the Rochester community, and in the professional park we had no visibility, so we were missing that at that location," said Partner Mark Boulanger, who joined the firm in 2004. "We are extremely happy being in downtown."

The firm specializes in tax planning, tax returns, financial statements preparation, QuickBooks software and payroll services.

Boulanger is also a certified business valuation analyst.

As part of the move the firm hired another employee, Tina Nadeau, a staff accountant who handles a large amount of their bookkeeping and payroll processing.

Another great thing about moving downtown, Boulanger smiled, is more options for lunch.
