Rochester, Dover fugitives nabbed by Marshals

The U.S. Marshal's Joint Fugitive Task Force made two Strafford County Fugitive arrests on Wednesday, including a Rochester man wanted in connection with an assault in Massachusetts.

Deputies arrested James Walker, 35, at 4 Pawtuckett Way in Rochester. The Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force requested assistance from deputies in New Hampshire to locate and arrest Walker on warrants out of Somerville, Mass.

The Somerville Police Department held the warrant for Walker to include Threat to Commit Crime, Assault in Dwelling while Armed, Threat to Commit Crime and Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon. Deputies arrested Walker with the assistance of Rochester Police. Walker is being held at the Strafford County Jail.

The Joint Fugitive Task Force had also been attempting to locate Joshua Lorette, 21, with a last known location of Dover, N.H. Lorette was wanted on a probation violation as a result of multiple Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault charges and a Sexual Assault charge. Warrants were issued in August of 2015.

Deputies enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshal's Joint Fugitive Task Force in upstate New York upon obtaining an anonymous tip as to Lorette's location. Lorette was arrested Wednesday in Portlandville, N.Y. and will be held in Oswego County, N.Y., pending extradition back to New Hampshire.

The Task Force comprises deputies from the U.S. Marshal's service as well as Sheriff's Offices around the State, to include the Strafford County Sheriff's Office. The partnership with this Task Force has resulted in arrests for offenses ranging from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and many other serious offenses within Strafford County and across the state.
