ROCHESTER - Rochester Firefighters, Local 1451, has begun a program that is hoped will give local needy children a warm feeling this winter.

By partnering with Operation Warm, a national non-profit, the union is committed to providing brand new, American-made, winter coats to children in need in Rochester. The group has a goal of raising at least $1,000 to provide 30 new coats for children in Community Action Partnership of Strafford County's Head Start program.

"We are grateful to Local 1451 for their commitment to helping children right here in our community," says Stacie McCoy, CAP's Director of Child and Family Services.

Rochester Firefighters Local 1451 is hoping for the public's support to reach its goal. It will accept monetary or in-kind donations to fund this initiative.

To donate, mail to: 37 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH 03867. Attn: Rochester Professional Firefighters. Donations can also be dropped at the main station or Gonic sub-station on Route 125.
