ROCHESTER - A Rochester man has been arrested on riot charges after a prolonged investigation into an Eastside shooting in January.

Cole Labonte, 23, is accused of firing his weapon into the air during a fight in the parking lot of the Highland Street Cumberland Farms.

An investigation revealed that multiple people had assembled at the convenience store for the purpose of confronting an individual who was at a nearby residence. A physical confrontation ensued and a handgun was fired into the air. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.

Labonte, who was arrested at his home on Wednesday, is charged with Riot, a class B felony, for allegedly shooting the gun.

He was released on personal recognizance bail pending an arraignment at Strafford County Superior Court later this month.
