Rochester man dies of injuries in Somersworth crash

SOMERSWORTH - A Rochester man died Thursday in a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Blackwater and Old Rochester roads in Somersworth.

Joseph Gibson, 45 was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt around 8:20 a.m. when the crash occurred.

Gibson sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover. It was not immediately released whether he died en route or after arriving at the hospital.

The Strafford County Regional Accident reconstruction Team provided assistance in the investigation.

Preliminary reports indicated the Cobalt was traveling west on Blackwater Road. A witness stated the collision occurred in the intersection.

The investigation into the crash continues today.
