DOVER, N.H. - A 24-year-old Rochester man indicted on heroin charges could spend 40 years behind bars.

David Hunt, of 152 Rochester Hill Road, No. 28, was formally charged by a Strafford County grand jury earlier this month.

Court records show Hunt was arrested for possession of heroin in Rochester on Aug. 28 of last year, and that he has a prior conviction. The current charge is possession of a controlled drug, and is classified as a Special Felony. It also carries up to a $500,000 fine if convicted.

The grand jury indictments were handed down on June 18 and released on Tuesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
