Rochester man faces 7 years in DV case

DOVER, N.H. - A Rochester man faces up to seven years in state prison after a Strafford County grand jury handed down four indictments against him in a January domestic violence incident.

Lorenzo Naranjo, 57, of 116 Charles St., Apt. B, is charged with one felony count of second-degree assault along with three counts of Class A misdemeanor simple assault in connection with his January 13 arrest.

The second-degree assault indictment alleges Naranjo strangled a male victim, causing him to "experience impeded breathing and/or blood circulation."

The three Class A misdemeanor counts allege Naranjo also scratched the victim on his neck and hands and grabbed him by the hands. The misdemeanor charges could draw Naranjo a year in county jail apiece.

The indictments were handed down April 16 and released last week.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant a trial.
