Rochester man hit with DWI after Old Dover Road crash

ROCHESTER - An elderly Rochester woman was injured and a Rochester man was arrested for DWI in a two-car crash on Old Dover Road on Wednesday.

Police say the accident occurred around 7 p.m. in in the area of the Route 16 off ramp when Daniel Norwood, 70, was southbound on old Dover Road in a gray 2014 Dodge 1500 Pickup Truck and was struck by a 2005 Ford Five Hundred driven by Brandon Maloy, 24, of Rochester, who entered the truck's lane from the northbound side.

The Ford continued along Old Dover Road striking a mailbox and coming to rest on the shoulder of the northbound lane near the entrance to Rochester Public Works.

Norwood's wife, Irene, and Maloy were both taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Maloy was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and operating without a valid license.
