Rochester man indicted in theft from Farmington business

DOVER - A Rochester man is facing up to 15 years in prison following his indictment by a Strafford County grand jury for allegedly stealing cash from a Farmington business.

Jesse Miller, 33, of 29 Forest Ave., stands formally charged with theft by unauthorized taking, with the alleged amount of cash stolen estimated at more than $1,500.

Court records allege that the theft occurred between Dec 1, 2015, and Sept. 9 of this year and that Miller "exercised unauthorized control over (the money) with the purpose to deprive (the victims) thereof."

The charge is a Class A felony punishable by anywhere from 7 ½ to 15 years in state prison along with a $4,000 fine.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down last week.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant a trial.
