AUGUSTA, Maine - Maine State Police continue to stay mum on details in last month's Saco shooting death of a Rochester man, but the state's Medical Examiner's office did release on Tuesday he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

"We are still investigating the circumstances," Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland told The Rochester Voice Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m.

Michael Burns, 54, a computer repair entrepreneur and graduate of tony prep school Berwick Academy and Norwich University, a private Vermont military college, was shot on the front porch of a duplex at 26 Nye St. around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 30.

Maine State Police Detectives said the man who shot Burns called police, and there were two other persons inside the house at the time, however no one has been charged or identified in the case.

Police have disclosed few details of the shooting, including whether any of the men at the house previously knew Burns, who was an Army veteran.
