Rochester motorcyclist severely injured in crash with car

ROCHESTER - A Rochester motorcyclist sustained serious injuries when he collided with a car on Eastern Avenue on Monday.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the area of 40 Eastern Ave. when police say Joanne Sanborn, 74, of Lebanon, was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry south toward town and collided with a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling north.

The motorcycle was being operated by, Matthew Medina, 26. He was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

From the initial on scene investigation it appears the Toyota Camry attempted to make a left hand turn, which was in the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The accident is currently under investigation by Strafford County Technical Accident Reconstruction Team.
