Rochester motorist cited for failure to yield in Rochester Hill Road crash

ROCHESTER - A Rochester motorist was injured on Thursday in a two-car collision at the intersection of Rochester Hill and Haven Hill roads.

The accident occurred around 8:50 p.m. when Victoria Hall, 24, of Rochester, was driving a Hyundai Accent north on Rochester Hill Road and Walter Ellsworth, 55, of East Rochester and driving a Ford Escape, and turning southbound on Rochester Hill Road from Haven Hill Road.

When Ellsworth made his turn the Ford then crossed into the northbound lane of Rochester Hill Road and collided with the Hyundai, police said.

One of the drivers was taken to a local hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

Ellsworth was issued a summons for failure to yield.

Both vehicles suffered extensive front end damage and were towed from the scene.

Rochester Hill Road was shut down at the intersection for a short period of time during the investigation.
