Rochester property taxes edge up 2.5 percent

ROCHESTER - Rochester property taxes will see a modest jump this year, going up about 68 cents per thousand to $28.15, about a 2½ percent increase.

Mayor T.J. Jean made the announcement on Tuesday during a City Council meeting.

The new rate means the owner of a home assessed at $167,123 - the medium assessment in the city - will pay about $113 more in annual property taxes compared to last year.
