ROCHESTER - Library Director Brian Sylvester announced today that the Rochester Library has launched a redesigned website.
The library's new homepage features a fresher, easier-to-navigate and more user-friendly layout and is equipped with new features that were not available on the library's previous site.
Among the site's new features is a recommendations page, which has a continually updated list of suggested books on various subjects. The recommendations include staff picks, award winners, Rochester Recommends and more.
The new site also includes a monthly artist spotlight archive, which so far contains four years of highlighted artists.
Rochester residents will still have access to all of the online features they've grown accustomed to, including information about museum and theater passes as well as online access to download books, movies and shows via OverDrive and Hoopla.
The site was developed in-house through a combined effort by members of the library staff. The project took more than six months to complete, as staff members added it to their collective list of ongoing responsibilities.
"This website is the result of a concerted effort by everyone on our team, and I want to thank them for their tireless efforts to develop it while balancing so many other projects," Sylvester said. "Our hope is that residents will find this site to be much more accessible than our previous one."
