ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was arrested for drunken driving on Saturday after a three-car crash on Columbus Avenue.

The crash occurred around 7:10 p.m. when police say that Kelly Donovan, 28, of Rochester, was traveling toward town on Columbus Avenue driving a Chrysler sedan. Donovan's vehicle struck the rear of a Hyundai that had just pulled on to Columbus Ave from Upham Street operated by Roger Conroy, 85, of Rochester. Donovan's Chrysler then left the roadway and struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

All vehicles suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene. Donovan was transported to Frisbie Hospital for what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

As a result of the incident Donovan was charged with driving under the influence, three counts of simple assault, resisting arrest or detention and criminal threatening, all misdemeanor level offenses. Donovan declined the services of a bail commissioner and was transported to the Strafford County Jail to await arraignment on Monday at Rochester District Court.

If anyone may have witnessed the accident they are encouraged to contact Officer Brinkman of the Rochester Police Department at 330-7127.
