DOVER, N.H. - A Rochester woman faces life in prison after her indictment this month on heroin possession.

Alphonsine Adams-Peron, 24, of 4B Hanson St., is charged with possession of a controlled drug. Court records indicate Adams-Peron had in her possession more than five grams of heroin on July 15 when she was arrested in Rochester.

Due to a prior conviction, the charge is a Special Felony, which carries a life sentence in state prison as well as a $500,000 fine.

Adams-Peron was also indicted this month on forgery charges out of Somersworth in connections with an Aug. 14 check-cashing incident.

Her home address on that charge is 119 Blackwater Road, Apt. 1A, in Somersworth. The forgery charge is a Class B felony which carries a 3 ½ to seven year stint in state prison.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down June 18 and released on Tuesday. An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
