Rochester's National Night Out set for Common on Tues.

ROCHESTER - The annual National Night Out in Rochester will run from 5-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Commons.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make the city's neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Rochester's 10th National Night Out is hosted by Bridging The Gaps: Rochester's Drug and Alcohol Prevention Coalition and the Rochester Police Department.
More than 3,000 people turned out for National Night Out last year, and this year promises to be just as successful.
More than 20 community organizations from sports, health, churches, and more will have tables that people can visit.
One of the features children love the most is the chance to climb aboard various first responder vehicles, like police cruisers and fire trucks. There will also be a mobile smokehouse and vehicles from Frisbie EMS, State Police, Strafford County Sheriff, and Fish and Game.

"The RPD looks forward to this event each year," said Rochester Police Chief Paul Toussaint. "It's a great way for all of our officers to get to know more community members in a fun environment. It's also another great way that the RPD and Bridging The Gaps work together to make Rochester a better place to live."
