ROCHESTER - Rollande McNeil, 95, of Rochester, was summoned to heaven on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Born on May 5, 1922 in Warwick, Quebec, Canada Rollande and moved to Stark, N.H., in 1954 with her husband Raymond and son Alain.
Rollande and her family migrated to Rochester in 1956 and later developed McNeil Drive and embarked upon the endeavor of running a successful business, McNeil Paving. They later ventured into the motel industry in old Orchard Beach with McNeil Motel. The two happily enjoyed this adventure for 11 years until they retired in 1983. In her retirement she enjoyed travelling and wintering in Florida. Throughout her life Rollande exuded an endless love for infants, caring for many children in the community. A devout Catholic and acclaimed knitter, Rollande specialized in christening garments, winning several awards over the years at the Rochester Fair. Rollande's greatest passion throughout her life was family, whom she selflessly loved.
Rollande was greeted in heaven by her parents, Benjamin and Juliette Plourde; siblings Laurette, Simonne, Louisette, Romeo, Gerard, and Jean-Maurice; as well as her loving husband Raymond. She is survived by her loving son Alain, and his wife Gayle; grandsons Michael, Raymond and his wife Trina, four great-grandchildren Hayleigh, Mason, Noah, and Ethan.
