ROCHESTER - Ronald K. Sears, Sr., 72, a resident of Rochester for the past twenty years and formerly of Barrington, N.H., and Haverhill, Mass., died Sunday, March 4, 2017, at Frisbee Hospital in Rochester. Born, raised and educated in Gloucester, Mass., son of the late Frank and Amelia (Azevedo) Sears, he was a member of the Gloucester High School Class of 1962.
Self-employed as a carpenter all of his life, Mr. Sears also worked for several local contractors. He was a longtime member of the Oddfellows of Rochester and was a past Grand Master of the State Lodge.
Mr. Sears enjoyed fishing, operating flea markets and shopping for antiques. He also had an interest in politics and was a recent candidate for a state representative seat from Rochester.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-one years, Lisa (Belmer) Sears, three sons, Randy Sears of Plaistow, Ronald K. Sears, Jr. of Haverhill, Mass., and Jason D. Sears and his wife Tanya of Danville, two daughters, Debbie Galiano and her husband Chris of San Diego, Calif., and Lisa Sears of Plaistow, two sisters, Shirley Spoon and Sandra Silva, both of Gloucester, three grandchildren, Jaret, Jake and Hannah Sears, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Norman and Frank Sears.
