DOVER - After a determined battle with various illnesses, Rose-Marie Farina died on Saturday, February 25, 2017, one day short of her 90th birthday.
Rose-Marie is survived by Salvatore Farina, her loving husband of 70 years, and her beloved children James, Michael, Joseph, and Richard, their spouses and partners Teresa, Katharine, Rebecca, and Theresa. Rose-Marie is also survived by her sisters Dolores Kane (Quincy, Mass.) and Joannne Davis (O'Fallon, Mo.). Rose-Marie was the proud Grandmother to Nicholas, Elizabeth, Evan, Anika, Colette, Alessandra, Melissa, Jason, Penny, Andrea, James, and Erin and 21 great grandchildren and Aunt to seven nieces and nephews.
Rose-Marie (maiden name Scalia) was born in Dorchester, Mass., on February 26, 1927. She grew up and lived in Dorchester until her marriage to Salvatore Farina on a very snowy day on December 27, 1947. She and Salvatore began their family in Dorchester and raised four sons there until 1965 when they moved to Barrington. After their sons graduated from college and had started their own careers and families, Rose-Marie and Salvatore moved to Rochester, in the mid-1990s. In 2011 they moved to East Wakefield, and since 2015 have lived in Dover.
