MILTON - Russell "Blackie" Edward Ellis Sr., age 91, of Milton, died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Rochester Manor.
Born in Wolfeboro on May 15, 1927, the son of Lloyd F. and Eleanor (Londo) Ellis. He was raised in Middleton and has resided in Milton for over 78 years.
An Army veteran serving his country in World War II, a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Milton.
Russell retired as a maintenance machinist for the former Spaulding Fibre, working at both of their fiberboard plants. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and deep sea fishing.
Survived by his wife of 71 years Thelma L. (Collins) Ellis, and their children, three daughters: Dolores E. Woodill, Marie J. Hersey, Pauline L. Collins and six sons: Russell E. Ellis Jr., James R. Ellis, David A. Ellis, Brian M. Ellis and Leon L. Ellis, Lloyd Ellis, one sister, Evodia Harriman, one brother, Roger Ellis, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by three brothers, Erwin Ellis, Kenny Ellis, and Charles Ellis.
