SANFORD - A Sanford man has been arrested in a meth selling case.

Shane Thyng, 28, of 11B Emery St., is charged with Class "B" Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Methamphetamine).

Maine Drug Enforcement agents and Sanford Police made the arrest on Tuesday.

For the past two months, agents assigned to MDEA's York District Task Force have been investigating the sale of methamphetamine in the Sanford area and made several undercover purchases from Thyng, according to a state police press release.

MDEA agents along with Sanford Police and the Southern Maine Violent Offenders Task Force served arrest and search warrants at Thyng's Emery Street apartment last week, but could not locate him. Agents, however, did find 5.8 grams of manufactured methamphetamine there.

Then on Tuesday agents located Thyng at 321 Grammar Road where he was arrested without incident.

Following his arraignment, Thyng remains at York County Jail on $10,000 cash, a jail spokesman said today.
