DOVER, N.H. - A Sanford man will serve at least 2½ years in state prison after he accepted a plea deal on child porn charges Monday in Strafford County Superior Court.

David Polley, 55, of 7 Charles St., Sanford, Maine, a longtime Liberty Mutual employee who worked at their Dover corporate office, pleaded guilty to 53 counts of child sexual abuse image possession.

The prosecutor in the case had asked for a 10-20 year sentence, but the terms of the sentencing reveal Polley could actually cut six months off his minimum sentence if he successfully completes a sex offender treatment program.

According to court documents, the pornographic images were found on several thumb drives and Polley's laptop by fellow employees at Liberty. Polley had worked for the insurance giant for almost 30 years, but was fired after the investigation began almost three years ago.

Some of the images were said to include infants.

Polley, whose maximum sentence in the case is six years, will also have to register as a sex offender.
