Sanford man on high bail after drug arrest near school

SANFORD - A Sanford man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly selling drugs in a school zone.

Joshua Noorda, 33, of Island Avenue, was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs within 1,000 feet of a school zone, a Class A crime.

Noorda is being hed at the York County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

A Class A crime is punishable by up to 30 years in prison and $50,000 in fines.

Police did not disclose immediately what type of drug was allegedly being trafficked or the circumstances of Noorda's arrest.

The Lafayette School is just a couple of blocks from Island Avenue.
