SCSO exec director departing; other promotions released

DOVER - The Strafford County Sheriff's Office recently announced that Executive Director Daniel Auger was leaving the Sheriff's Office at the beginning of June.

Auger leaves with more than three decades of service to Strafford County Law Enforcement, which includes being a retired Chief of Police with the Rochester Police Department.

Meanwhile, Paul Callaghan was been promoted to captain and will be the Division Commander of the Support Division, which includes dispatch, prosecution, technology, investigations, training, and standards. Callaghan has 32 years of law enforcement experience and holds a master's in Public Administration from UNH.

Raymond Pardy has been promoted to Lieutenant and will be in charge of three Transportation Units; US Marshals, ICE, and Local. Pardy brings with him many years of police experience with an agency within this county, as well as many more years with the Sheriff's Office; he was previously in charge of Transportation, Investigations and the County Drug Task Force.

Kevin Abbott has been promoted to sergeant and will be the line supervisor of Civil Process and K-9 Units. Abbott has many years with state and local law enforcement and has experience with the Sheriff's Office Transportation Units and the Civil Process Unit.

Eric Millar was also promoted to sergeant and will be the line supervisor of our Training Unit and CALEA efforts for International Accreditation. Eric holds a Bachelor's Degree from Suffolk University in Boston. He has over 12 years in local law enforcement and has multiple instructor certifications, some are as follows: Firearms instructor and armorer, police prosecutor school, and Avoid, Deny Defend (civilian response to active shooter events) instructor.

We look forward to working in service to the people of Strafford County with this talented group of law enforcement professionals."
