Sharon Louise (York) Sniffin ... antiques store owner

ROCHESTER - Sharon Louise (York) Sniffin, 70, of Rochester, died peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Dover Center for Health and Rehabilitation with her husband and daughters at her side. She was born to the late Edwin York and Lois (Chesley) York on November 7, 1947.
Sharon grew up in Dover and graduated from Dover High School in 1965. She subsequently earned a degree from McIntosh College in Dover. Her husband, Gary Sniffin, was a student at the University of New Hampshire when they met, and they were married in 1968. In 1969 they embarked on 20 years of Navy life, living mostly on the West Coast. After Gary retired from the Navy in 1989, they remained in Southern California until moving back to Rochester in 2016.
Sharon is survived by her husband and their two daughters; Katherine Stone (Michael) and their children Tyler, Julia, Rachel, and Mikaila, of Murrieta, California; and Ann Richard (Michael) and their children Emma and Zoe, of Huntington, Indiana. She was preceded by her parents, and in 2011, by her brother, Terry York. She also leaves behind many dearly loved friends and extended family members.
Throughout the years, she had many vocations: bookkeeper, real estate sales/rental manager, and antique dealer/store owner, as well as personal growth coach.
Sharon always enjoyed being near the water, and often shared fond memories of childhood summers spent at Camp Idlepines on Bow Lake. Tennis, swimming, and horseback riding were among her favorite activities. She grew up playing classical music on violin and after transitioning through folk and country music, most recently enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffet. When visiting with family, she always had a lapful of grandkids, and loved every minute of it.
