GONIC - A Rochester woman was sent to the hospital Tuesday after her car left the roadway of Route 1125 in Gonic and struck a tree.

The one-car crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. near the Rochester Country Club when police say Victoria Wolff, age 58, of Silver Street, drove her Kia Rio off the road and into the back yard of a Church Street residence where she hit a tree.

Wolff was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

The vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage, was towed from the scene.

The accident remains under investigation, however, neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors, police say.
