LYMAN, Maine - Icy roads are being blamed in a Lyman car crash that injured two women, one critically.

State Police say 35-year-old Amber Desmond is in critical condition after the car she was driving slammed into a tree.

Desmond is being treated at Maine Medical Center. A passenger in her car, 35-year-old Sara Knight, was treated and released from Southern Maine Medical Center. Both women are from Springvale.

Trooper Matt Williams said Desmond lost control of her 2000 Chevrolet Prizm on the Walker Road just after 9 p.m. Williams said icy road conditions likely were a factor in the crash.
