ROCHESTER - State Police have completed their investigation into a Veterans Day crash that involved a Rochester Police cruiser.

State Police Trooper First Class Timothy Sawyer told The Rochester Voice today that a civilian vehicle caused the crash when it failed to yield to an emergency vehicle at the intersection of Portland Street and Columbus Avenue at 10:42 a.m. on Nov. 11.

Sawyer said the cruiser was responding to an emergency call and had both its emergency lights and siren activated when the crash occurred.

One person was treated for what are thought to have been minor injuries as a result of the crash though it's unclear whether it was a police officer or a civilian.

Rochester Police have had no comment on the accident since it was immediately referred to state police for an independent investigation.

The cruiser suffered substantial front-end damage, while the civilian vehicle was damaged on the front driver's side quarter panel.
