MILTON MILLS - Stephen H. Woodbury, 87, died recently. He was born January 13, 1928, in Milton Mills, N.H., son of William E. Woodbury and Doris Home Woodbury and was a graduate of Nute High School in Milton, N.H.

He worked at his father's Yankee Poultry Farm at a very early age, driving a truck and caring for the animals. He joined the Army in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Korea for one year, receiving an honorable discharge following the death of his father.

Upon returning home, he studied Electrical Engineering at Davis Vocational in Dover, New Hampshire, then at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. He worked for General Electric in the Engineering Laboratory and later for Honeywell-Bull as a Computer Field Engineer, logging a total of 38 years prior to retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor Connorton Woodbury, his daughter Photini Leigh, his son Robert and daughter-in-law Cathy, his son William and daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and his grandson, Jackson. He is further survived by his two sisters, his twin Jane Woodbury-Seeling, of Cold Spring, Colorado and Ann Woodbury Davis of Amherst, New Hampshire. He was pre-deceased by his younger sister, Susan Woodbury Misek of Hudson, New Hampshire.

Stephen was a loving and devoted husband and father. He proudly supported the many endeavors of his children and was a constant source of wisdom and advice. He was an avid hiker and dearly loved spending time in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Stephen enjoyed playing the piano and the guitar, gardening, photography and was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator. A friend to all creatures, he spent more than twenty years on the Board of Directors of the Strafford County Animal Protective Society.
