Deputy Kristian Kerkensen ... soon to be sergeant

DOVER, N.H. - Strafford County Sheriff David G. Dubois announced on Monday the promotion of Deputy Kristian Kerkensen to the rank of Sergeant, effective May 23.

Kerkensen received a bachelor's in Criminal Justice from Hesser College and began his law enforcement career in 2000 with the Rollinsford Police Department where he advanced to the rank of Sergeant.

He was hired by the Strafford County Sheriff's Office back in 2014, as a Deputy assigned to the Civil Process Unit. He holds certifications as an instructor in the use of force fields, as well as DARE facilitation. He is currently a K-9 handler with the office assigned with K-9 partner Jasper.

As a Sergeant, he will oversee the Civil Process Unit along with the K-9 unit of the Sheriff's Office.
