Superheroes on parade to give hunger their best knockout punch
3:12 p.m.
ROCHESTER - Anyone can be a superhero fighting hunger at the Hunger Hero Food Drive on June 10 at the Rochester Hannaford's on North Main. From 10 a.m.-1 p.m. five superheroes will be at the Hannaford to meet children and pose for photos. All ages can also play video games in a huge climate-controlled game truck, enjoy free superhero snow cones, and more. Eventgoers are asked to bring a bag of nonperishable food or purchase a prepacked donation bag right at Hannaford. Gift card and cash donations will also be accepted. Spider-man, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Red & Pink Power Rangers are among the superheroes scheduled to appear. Gerry's Emergency Food Pantry is a program of the SHARE Fund and the largest provider of free food resources in the local community, serving more than 5,000 people annually to alleviate hunger.
