ROCHESTER - Friday's harsher-than-predicted snowstorm accounted for at least seven accidents in Rochester, including one involving a police cruiser on Old Dover Road.

The wet, heavy snow kept even main roads greasy as road crews had rough going keeping up with the heavy snowfall, which began to wind down late in the afternoon.

Most of the area received about six inches.

Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau said the cruiser was struck on Old Dover road while the officer was out of the car tending to another accident that had occurred nearby.

The car that struck the cruiser was heading toward Dover in the vicinity of the offramp that exits the Spaulding on Old Dover Road.

Boudreau said no one was injured in the accident, but the cruiser did suffer some rear bumper damage.

No major accidents were reported in either Milton or Lebanon.
