ROCHESTER - The Castle on Charles will present a medieval dinner musical, "The Sword in the Stone - Challenge for the Throne!" from Nov. 9-17.

The action takes place at one festive tournament - and feast - that you won't want to miss. It's good to be the King, but his regime is up ... who will take his place?

This guest-interactive production encompasses a four-course, eat-with-your-hands medieval dinner in the great hall of The Castle.
A new production written and directed by Mike Morris, this medieval musical is loosely based on the story of Excalibur, but wrapped in fun, audience-loving songs sung by some of the area's most extraordinary musical talent.
The evening promises to be filled with delicious food, course after course, as guests sing along and frolic, feast and flagon at a royal tournament that the king has planned to decide who will become the next king.

It is also the audience's chance to take the throne! But the challenger must pull the sword from the proverbial stone.
Dinner includes appetizers, soup, bone-in chicken and ribs, roasted potatoes, honey-glazed carrots, and a delicious desert. Tickets are $44 and include tax & gratuity, available at www.CastleNH.com/upcoming-events.html or at The Governor's Inn which is catering the dinner. Guests are encouraged to wear something medieval to make the evening more fun. Gates to the Castle open at 6:30pm with appetizers. Optional beer, wine, mead and grog will be available in the Tavern.

Meanwhile, this weekend the Castle will feature "Macabaret," which debuted at The Castle 3 years ago

The musical show features a spooky musical review with an impressive set by Denise McDonough and lighting by Doug Decker.

Also this time there will be a full dinner option.
