LEBANON, Maine - Northeast Motorsports has been a Route 202 fixture in Lebanon since 2001, but look for some new wrinkles this year after the business changed ownership last month.

Dan and Jessica Roy said the new Northeast Motorsports will still be in the motorsports business, but the Wells couple said they'll be adding some new stuff, too.

For instance this coming week they'll be introducing an exciting new vehicle into the Southwest Maine and Northern Seacoast marketplace from Oreion Motors: the Reeper, a street legal side-by-side that is built to cruise around you hometown and take you deep off-road.

The Reepers start at around $12,000 and can go up as high as $20,000, Dan Roy said. There's only one other dealer in Maine, he said, and none so far in New Hampshire.

The addition of the Reeper is part of the couple's focus to become more inclusive for outdoor motorsport enthusiasts.

"We want to be more of an all-round recreational vehicle store," said Jessica Roy, who will serve as office manager at the store.

Her husband, Dan, meanwhile, has spent a full decade as a mechanic and said he's comfortable working on any vehicle. He'll head up the service department.

The store, located at 451 Carl Brggi Hwy., will continue to sell and service its historical lines of regular outdoor motorsports vehicles like snowmobiles, ATVs and side-by-sides, but it will also expand its reach into the smaller RV market, the Roys said.

To that end they've partnered with Harvey Trailers up in Bangor to sell all types of smaller trailers like utility trailers including dump and landscaping trailers, boat and car trailers and enclosed trailers for all the family's "toys."

Dan Roy said they'll be limiting their RVs to micro-campers, smaller version RVs that are less than 20 feet and can be easily towed with a typical SUV.

The Roys are both avid snowmobilers, jet skiers and ATVers, they said, and are looking forward to meeting local enthusiasts and getting them excited in what has become a large part of their life.

The business will have its grand opening on June 2, during which there will be a cookout as well as some vehicle specials and different giveaways.
