ROCHESTER - Thomas C. Ward, 79, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016, at his home following a brief illness.
Born March 19, 1937, in East Port, Maine, he was the son of John and Dorothy (Rogers) Ward.
Mr. Ward was a retired First Sergeant from the Army after 22 years of service, who served two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Army he worked as an auditor at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 17 years.
He was a member of the Rochester Elks Lodge 1303, and the American Legion Post 7 of Rochester. He was a member of the Senior League at Pease Golf Course for many years. He loved watching sports, and most of all taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren golfing and bowling.
Members of his family include his wife of 56 years, Traute Ward of Rochester, N.H.; his children, Barbara Toomire of Epping, N.H., and Peter Ward and wife Julie Borden of Portsmouth, N.H.; his grandchildren, Eric, Christopher, Rebecca, and Maxwell; his great grandchildren, Landon, Naomi, Godric, and Forest; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Rogers, William, and Steve Ward, and his sister, Mary Proulx.
