ROCHESTER - Three motorists were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Washington Street on Thursday afternoon.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Washington Street and Estes Road a little before 5 p.m. when police say Jared Thomas, 18, of Barrington, was eastbound in his 2004 Chevrolet Malibu on Washington Street when he came upon a vehicle beginning to enter the roadway from Estes Road. As Thomas maneuvered to make a left onto Estes Road around the vehicle he collided with an oncoming 2002 Lexus operated by Renee Anderson, 62 of Barrington.

Anderson attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to do so and struck Thomas' vehicle.

Both vehicles were significantly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Thomas, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time, struck his head on the windshield. His airbags did deploy at impact. He responded to a hospital on his own after the crash. Anderson, who was wearing her seat belt, was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries. A passenger in her car was also transported to Frisbie with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.

Police are also asking the driver of a truck that was stopped nearby and not involved in the crash to call police to aid in the investigation which is ongoing.

Anyone who thinks they have information regarding the crash may call Officer Marvin at 330-7128.
